Iconic Influences Offer Color Inspiration in 2012
Winter’s harsh cold makes us escape to the warmth and comfort of our homes. Winter is also the season to review the year that was, be thankful for our many blessings, and dream of the possibilities for the New Year. Our home reflects this constant evolution in our lives. Interior color and design trends reflect this “past & future” concept. “Made in the USA” is taking on new importance as we fight our way out of the recession. Colors are influenced by the familiar icons of the past and the optimism of the future. Diamond Vogel’s 2012 Winter palette takes influence from the past while celebrating our own heritage and fight for our economic freedom.
Color Watch
Purple is the color to watch in 2012! It is influencing many sectors from men’s and women’s fashion, to housewares to our interiors. Purple’s youthful vibe makes it an easy choice as we look back for inspiration from items that hold special meaning. Aqua and teal stay strong as accent colors and pair well with grey and mineral colors.
Grey has dominated our neutral palette, but creamy off-whites and earthy browns are coming on strong. Mineral colors continue strong as warm greys and blacks lead the way. True green has taken a step forward, replacing the yellow-greens and sages that have been so popular. Red is influenced by orange, with rusty reds gaining strength. Showy fuchsias and bright reds add a pop of color, and offer a dramatic edge. |
