Sustainability

The majority of green building requirements focus on the VOC content of a paint or coatings. While reducing VOC is an important task, Diamond Vogel does not want to lose site of the more important goal, sustainability. Sustainability is commonly defined as meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet the own needs. In practice, sustainability is conserving energy and natural resources while maximizing the life cycle of used materials. How a coating performs is key to maximizing environmental benefits while minimizing the impact on the ecosystem. That's why Diamond Vogel manufactures all of our coatings to offer maximum performance and carefully recommends coating systems based on the conditions they will be used in. We feel it's important to reduce the total amount of VOC and conserve all the resources required to make a coating by limited the number of times the substrate must be painted.

GREEN WISECM Product Certification

The Certified by GREEN WISE certification mark by Coatings Reasearch Group Incorporated.

Diamond Vogel products that display the Green Wise mark are tested and certified by Coatings Research Group, Incorporated. These products are tested under strict laboratory conditions by and ISO-certified laboratory, meet or exceed scientifically determined environmental standards, and are environmentally preferred over traditional paints and coatings. VANTAGE-plus®

Our Vantage-Plus Interior Latex products have been carefully crafted with the newest environmental friendly technologies. The line is designed to provide outstanding hide, burnish resistance and touchup, as well as superior application and durability. Vantage-Plus Flat contains less than 50 g/L of VOC, while the non-flat versions contain less than 100 g/L. Vantage-Plus also has a primer available that offers superior hold out for a variety of topcoats and provides a uniform substrate to make the finish coat look great. Vantage-Plus is an excellent choice for use on both residential and commercial projects.

Health-Kote®

Health-Kote Interior Latex is our proven, zero-VOC latex product line. Health-Kote has been available as a zero-VOC formulation for over ten years and provides a durable finish that can be easily cleaned. It was designed with low-splatter technology and has excellent hide. Designed specifically for residential and commercial projects where maintaining indoor air quality is of maximum concern. The Health-Kote product line includes a zero-VOC primer designed to provide excellent holdout of Health-Kote finishes, as well as other topcoats.

Manufacturing

Diamond Vogel uses several environmentally friendly programs within the manufacturing process. We reduce energy use by employing new advanced manufacturing equipment, replacing roofing materials with reflective materials, using energy efficient, lighting technologies and reengineering shipping areas to reduce head loss. Diamond Vogel conserves the use of natural materials throughout the manufacturing process by reusing cleaning solvents and wash water, recycling old coatings into new batches and implementing a recycling program for paper, cardboard, containers and light bulbs.
